Martyr Anodes CMXC40A Clamp Shaft Anode with Stainless Steel Hardware

Manufacturer

Martyr Anodes

<h3>About Martyr Anodes</h3><p>When it comes to defending a vessel against galvanic corrosion, few names carry the authority of <strong>Martyr Anodes</strong>. A flagship brand within the <strong>CMP Group</strong>, Martyr has its roots in foundry operations that date back to the early 1900s in Vancouver, BC, growing from a local manufacturer into a globally recognized leader in marine cathodic protection. Today, the brand supplies boaters, commercial operators, and marine professionals worldwide with sacrificial anodes engineered to guard hulls, propellers, rudders, shafts, engines, and other submerged components from the relentless effects of corrosion.</p><h3>Three Alloys, Every Water Type</h3><p>What sets Martyr apart from competing anode manufacturers is its position as the only brand to offer all three protective alloys — zinc, aluminum, and magnesium — under a single product line. This matters because the correct alloy depends entirely on the water environment a vessel operates in. Zinc anodes are the classic choice for aggressive saltwater conditions, while aluminum anodes are preferred for saltwater and brackish environments, offering superior corrosion resistance with a reduced environmental footprint. Magnesium anodes are the go-to solution for freshwater use, delivering effective sacrificial protection without degrading too quickly. Whatever the operating environment, Martyr has an engineered solution to match.</p><h3>Military-Grade Manufacturing Standards</h3><p>Martyr does not cut corners on metallurgy. Every anode is pressure die-cast and manufactured to meet or exceed <strong>U.S. Military alloy specifications</strong>, using only high-purity metals. Each alloy batch is lab-tested with full certification and traceability available upon request. This rigorous quality management — operating under an ISO 9001 framework — ensures that each anode delivers consistent, long-lasting galvanic performance across a wide range of marine environments, from recreational pleasure craft to commercial vessels and naval applications.</p><h3>Anode Kits for Simplified Protection</h3><p>For boaters who want a complete, hassle-free maintenance solution, Martyr&rsquo;s <a href="/7452-martyr-anodes-anode-kits-200102">Anode Kits</a> offer pre-packaged sets engineered for specific engine models and boat types. Compatible with major marine engine brands including Yamaha, Mercury, Volvo, and MerCruiser, these kits take the guesswork out of corrosion protection and ensure every critical system receives optimal coverage in a single purchase.</p><h3>Sustainability at the Core</h3><p>Martyr and the CMP Group have made environmental stewardship a cornerstone of their mission. Traditional zinc anodes can contain cadmium, a metal that poses risks to aquatic ecosystems. Martyr actively advocates for the adoption of aluminum and magnesium alternatives that deliver equal or superior protection while minimizing harm to marine environments — embodying the brand&rsquo;s philosophy of &ldquo;Protect your boat, protect our waters.&rdquo; With over 1,000 anode types available and a catalog that fits virtually every major marine engine and boat model, Martyr remains one of the most comprehensive and trusted sources for marine corrosion protection in the world.</p>

Product Details

The Martyr Anodes CMXC40A is a clamp-style shaft anode designed to provide reliable corrosion protection for propeller shafts on boats and marine vessels. This sacrificial anode helps prevent galvanic corrosion by attracting electrolysis away from critical metal components in saltwater and brackish water environments.

Key Features:

  • Clamp insert design ensures a tight, secure fit to the propeller shaft
  • Stainless steel slotted head hardware included for corrosion-resistant installation
  • Lock washers included to maintain secure attachment in marine conditions
  • Bolt retaining washers prevent the anode from falling off during installation
  • Easy installation, even underwater when necessary
  • Manufactured from high-quality anode alloy for optimal galvanic protection

This clamp shaft anode is ideal for protecting propeller shafts, rudder posts, and other underwater metal components from destructive galvanic corrosion. The clamp design allows for easy installation without requiring shaft removal, making replacement and maintenance quick and convenient.

Very easy to order and checkout.

Once I got the numbers off the old battery it was easier than when I put in the make and model because I have a BMW motorcycle instead of the car which is what came up each time.

Quick note easy

Order was easy on line with great payment options. Called to inquire about order the next day and got immediate response. Item was shipped within 36 hours of order.

Easy to use website

1st order. Shipped super fast and prices are amazing. I will be back for sure.

Your website is great, but I only made this transaction because you cancelled my last one. I tried to order the Deezee brand box and your inventory was off. Hopefully I'll get this one, I really need my toolbox! Update- got the new box, it's just as ad

Liked the prices a lot. Disappointed that there was no break in shipping costs when ordering multiple items.

Impressed with selection and price. Saved over traditional e-tailers and they shipped within 24 hours. Excited to recommend AUTOPLICITY.

easy fast ordering

Keith was very helpful. I will be using you for all my future projects.

Ordered Friday and received the shipment Tuesday. Excellent price. The product was exactly as ordered and arrived in good condition. The checkout process at autoplicity.com is incompatible with nonmainstream browsers. No joy even with java, javascript, referrer logging and cookies all enabled. Finally I placed the order over the phone. Ten minutes later I received acknowledgments for two identical orders, 8961 and 8965. I phoned and asked them to cancel one of the duplicate orders. Four hours later I receive an e-mail saying my order 8961 was canceled for one of four possible reasons, none of which was "We canceled your order that was accidentally duplicated." So I had to phone again (phone is more effective with autoplicity than e-mail or chat) to see whether they had canceled one or both orders. The excellent price was offset by the communication hassle. If you prefer not to use IE or Thunderbird or Chrome, then skip the checkout hassle by placing your order by phone.
