Panther 35SS660 Safe-Skeg Stainless Steel Skeg Protector for Mercury V6 Outboards

The Panther Safe-Skeg (35SS660) is a precision-fit stainless steel skeg protector designed specifically for Mercury V6 outboard engines, including 150–275 HP and Verado 225 HP models. Whether you need to protect a new skeg from future damage or restore an impact-damaged skeg to like-new condition, the Safe-Skeg installs directly over the original skeg in just minutes.

The outboard skeg is the fin-shaped component at the lowest point of your lower unit, acting as a rudder that keeps your boat tracking straight and steering accurately. Because of its exposed position, it is highly vulnerable to rock strikes and other underwater hazards. A damaged skeg can noticeably reduce engine performance and compromise steering precision — the Safe-Skeg provides a durable armor solution to prevent and repair that damage.

Key Features:

• Engine-specific fitment for a precise, seamless fit and like-new performance
• Mirror-polished 316 marine-grade stainless steel construction for superior corrosion resistance
• 1.5mm material thickness — no skid plate required due to extra material thickness
• Seamless design for maximum strength and durability
• Integrated drain hole to prevent water entrapment, corrosion, and winter freeze-up
• Installs in minutes with no special tools required

• Safe-Skeg protector
