Panther 35SS690 Safe-Skeg Skeg Protector for Yamaha 115-130 HP 2-Stroke & 4-Stroke Outboards

The Panther 35SS690 Safe-Skeg is a precision-fit stainless steel skeg protector and repair cover designed for Yamaha 115–130 HP outboard motors. Whether you need to protect a new skeg from future damage, restore a chipped or impact-damaged skeg to like-new condition, or simply add a mirror-polished finish to your lower unit, the Safe-Skeg delivers a clean, professional result without costly welded repairs.

The skeg is the fin-shaped appendage at the lowest point of your outboard's lower unit. It acts as a rudder to keep the motor tracking straight and enables accurate steering — especially critical for high-performance and bass boats running on plane. Because of its exposed position, the skeg is highly susceptible to damage from rocks, stumps, and submerged debris. A damaged skeg reduces engine performance and negatively affects steering response.
