Panther 35SS710 Safe-Skeg Stainless Steel Skeg Protector for Evinrude/Suzuki/Mercury

The Panther Safe-Skeg 35SS710 is a mirror-polished, 316 marine-grade stainless steel skeg protector/cover that installs directly over your outboard engine's original skeg. Whether you need to protect a new skeg from future impact damage or restore a chipped or impact-damaged skeg to like-new performance, the Safe-Skeg delivers a seamless, engine-specific fit that looks and performs great on the water.

The skeg is the fin-shaped component at the lowest point of your outboard motor. It functions as a rudder, keeping the motor tracking straight and enabling accurate steering — a function that is especially critical on high-performance boats like bass boats running on plane. Because of its exposed position, the skeg is highly susceptible to rock strikes and underwater hazards, and a damaged skeg can seriously degrade engine performance and steering response. The Safe-Skeg shields this vulnerable component while also helping protect the propeller from incidental damage.
