The Sierra 18-1356 is a replacement needle roller bearing for the pinion gear in the lower unit of Mercruiser stern drives and Johnson/Evinrude outboards. This fore carrier/pinion gear bearing supports the pinion end of the driveshaft, enabling the pinion gear to rotate smoothly and efficiently transfer power to the propeller shaft.
Manufactured to meet or exceed original equipment specifications, the Sierra 18-1356 is a direct, drop-in replacement for the factory-installed bearing. It is built to withstand the demanding conditions of marine lower unit operation, including high rotational loads and continuous water exposure.
