The Sierra 18-3518 is a replacement water pump base outer plate designed as a direct OEM-equivalent substitute for Yamaha four-stroke outboard engines. This component forms a critical part of the raw water cooling system, serving as the wear plate at the base of the water pump cartridge assembly that interfaces with the impeller to maintain proper coolant flow and protect the engine from overheating.
Key Features:
The 18-3518 outer plate is a common service item during water pump rebuilds and impeller replacements. Replacing worn or scored wear plates at every impeller service interval helps ensure maximum pump efficiency and reliable engine cooling. Compatible with select Yamaha F225 and F250 four-stroke outboard motors.
