Product Details

The Sierra 18-5156 is a premium replacement contact set (points) designed specifically for Johnson and Evinrude outboard motors. This ignition component is a critical part of the breaker point ignition system, controlling the timing of spark delivery to ensure reliable engine starting and smooth operation.

Key Features:

  • Direct OEM replacement for OMC part number 580148
  • Precision-engineered contact points for accurate ignition timing
  • High-quality construction ensures reliable spark and consistent performance
  • Designed to meet or exceed original equipment specifications
  • Essential maintenance component for older Johnson/Evinrude point-style ignition systems

Contact sets wear over time and should be replaced periodically as part of routine tune-up maintenance. Worn points can cause hard starting, rough idling, misfiring, and poor engine performance. This Sierra replacement part restores proper ignition function to keep your outboard running at peak efficiency.
