Product Details

The Sierra 18-5200 is a replacement ignition condenser designed for Johnson/Evinrude outboard motors and OMC Sterndrive/Cobra engines using a points-type ignition system. This condenser works in conjunction with the ignition points to suppress voltage spikes and protect the contact points from premature wear, ensuring reliable spark delivery and consistent engine performance.

Sierra International is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket marine engine parts, producing components engineered to meet or exceed OEM specifications. The 18-5200 is a direct replacement for OMC OEM part number 580256 and is also cross-referenced as GLM 70590, making sourcing and verification straightforward.

Key Features:

  • Direct OEM replacement — replaces OMC part number 580256
  • Compatible with Johnson/Evinrude outboard engines with points-type ignition
  • Compatible with OMC Sterndrive and OMC Cobra stern drive applications
  • Cross-references GLM part number 70590
  • Engineered to meet or exceed original equipment specifications
  • Suppresses voltage spikes to extend ignition point life
  • Ensures reliable ignition performance and consistent spark timing

Sierra's 18-5200 condenser is a cost-effective solution for tune-ups and ignition system maintenance on older Johnson/Evinrude and OMC-powered boats, helping restore smooth starting and dependable operation on the water.
