Sierra 18-5290 Electronic Ignition Conversion Kit for V8 Mercruiser

The Sierra 18-5290 electronic ignition conversion kit upgrades older points-style ignition systems to modern electronic ignition on V8 Mercruiser engines. This high-performance conversion kit replaces outdated mechanical points with an advanced electronic system that intelligently senses current levels in the coil and automatically adjusts dwell time to maintain peak energy throughout the entire RPM range.

Key Performance Benefits:

• Develops 4 times more energy than points systems from 3000-5000 RPM
• Produces twice as much spark plug voltage compared to traditional point-type ignition
• Automatic dwell adjustment ensures consistent performance across all engine speeds
• Eliminates points maintenance and timing drift
• Improves engine starting, throttle response, and fuel efficiency
• Designed specifically for V8 Mercruiser sterndrive engines

This conversion kit is designed for marine applications and provides a reliable, maintenance-free ignition solution that delivers stronger spark energy and more consistent engine performance than conventional breaker point systems.
