Product Details

The Sierra 18-6100 is a magnesium sacrificial anode designed to protect Johnson and Evinrude outboard motors from galvanic corrosion. Magnesium anodes are the preferred choice for freshwater applications, where their higher galvanic activity provides superior electrochemical protection compared to zinc or aluminum alternatives.

This anode is a direct replacement for OEM part number 123009 (also referenced as 173029) and is manufactured to meet or exceed original equipment specifications. The threaded design allows for straightforward installation and replacement during routine maintenance.

Key Features:

  • Magnesium construction — ideal for freshwater use
  • Sacrificial anode protects outboard metal components from galvanic corrosion
  • Direct OEM replacement for Johnson/Evinrude part number 123009 and 173029
  • Threaded design for easy installation
  • Manufactured to meet or exceed OEM standards
  • Compatible with a wide range of Johnson and Evinrude outboards (1981–2011)

Cross-reference part numbers include: 123009, 173029, 123009-MG, 18-6017M, and 18-6100M. Regular inspection and replacement of sacrificial anodes is a critical part of outboard motor maintenance to extend the service life of underwater metal components.
