Product Details

The Sierra 18-6244 is a magnesium sacrificial anode engineered for freshwater corrosion protection on Mercury/Mariner outboard engines and MerCruiser stern drive systems. Magnesium anodes are the correct choice for freshwater use, offering greater electrochemical activity than zinc or aluminum alternatives to effectively protect metal drivetrain components from galvanic corrosion.

This anode is a direct-fit replacement for the anti-ventilation plate area of compatible Mercury and MerCruiser applications. Its design provides additional clearance for high-rake propellers, making it a versatile upgrade over standard OEM anodes.

Key Features:

  • Magnesium construction — for freshwater use only
  • Provides additional clearance for high-rake propellers
  • Meets or exceeds original equipment specifications
  • Direct replacement for multiple Mercury Marine and MerCruiser OEM part numbers

Compatible Engine Applications:

  • Mercury/Mariner 35–300 HP outboard engines
  • Force 90 and 120 HP engines (1995 and newer)
  • MerCruiser Alpha One Gen II stern drives
  • MerCruiser Bravo I, II, III, X, XR, and XZ stern drives

Replaces OEM Part Numbers:

  • MerCruiser Stern Drive: 762142, 76214A1, 76214A2, 76214A5, 97-76214Q5
  • Mercury Marine: 76214, 762142, 762143, 76214A1, 76214A5, 76214T3, 97-762145, 97-76214Q5

Sierra marine parts are manufactured to meet or exceed OEM quality standards, providing boaters with a reliable, cost-effective alternative to dealer-sourced components.
