Sierra 18-79816 Ethanol Fuel Tester for Gasoline

The Sierra 18-79816 Ethanol Fuel Tester is an essential diagnostic tool for marine, RV, and powersports applications. This easy-to-use tester accurately measures the ethanol content in gasoline, helping you protect your engine from the damaging effects of high ethanol levels.

Key Features:

• Clear graduated test tube with ethanol percentage markings for precise measurements
• Easy-to-read measurement scale shows exact ethanol content
• Simple water-displacement testing method delivers results in minutes
• Helps prevent fuel-related problems including phase separation, corrosion, and carburetor damage
• Compact and portable design for testing fuel at the pump or from storage tanks
• Ideal for 2-stroke and 4-stroke marine engines, small engines, and high-performance applications

How It Works: Fill the tester to the water line with clean water, add your fuel sample to the gasoline line, shake for 30-60 seconds, and let settle for 5-10 minutes. The ethanol bonds with the water and settles to the bottom, where you can read the precise ethanol percentage on the graduated scale.

Ethanol-blended fuels can cause serious issues in marine engines, including hard starts, fuel system degradation, reduced power output, and phase separation. Regular testing helps ensure your engine runs on appropriate fuel and prevents costly repairs. Replaces Mercury part number 91-879172T28.
