Product Details

The Sierra 18-9806E is a specialized shift cable tool designed for installing and removing shift cables on MerCruiser stern drive units. This essential marine service tool provides access to the recessed hex fitting on shift cables, making installation and removal significantly easier compared to standard sockets.

Compatible Drive Units:

 • MerCruiser MC-I stern drives
 • MerCruiser R and MR models
 • Alpha One stern drives
 • Alpha One Gen II drive units

Key Features:

 • Slotted design along entire length allows cable core and shift arm to remain installed during routing
 • 9/16 inch deep socket with hex head for easy wrench or ratchet access
 • Thin-walled construction fits in tight spaces around bell housing
 • Works with Sierra shift cables 18-2190 and 18-2190E
 • Meets or exceeds OEM quality standards

OEM Cross-References:

 • Replaces MerCruiser 91-12037
 • Interchangeable with GLM 90110

This tool is particularly valuable when installing shift cables with the cable core already inserted, as the slotted design accommodates the shift shaft arm while threading the cable into the bell housing. Sierra products are precision-built aftermarket replacements trusted by marine technicians worldwide.

Simple

Fast Shipping, great product. Prices are cheap, they lowered their price on my item a couple of days later and am in the process of getting the difference w/ their buySafe 3 in 1 guarantee. So far everything is great, would definitely recommend.

The best price I could find and it arrived in 2 days! I'll be doing business again.

Not only were they the cheapest price on the web, they shipped out my item the next day!

Thank you Autoplicity!

I'll definitely use you again/

Easy transaction. Shipped as promised thanks

Good price

Found what I needed with ease.

I purchased a wiring connector and some additional wiring pins. Super fast shipping. Likely to buy from again.

Your prices for Metal Rescue were the best I could find and your shipping was fast, although I screwed up and ordered a quart when I though I ordered a gallon

Lowest price usually means sub-par customer service. Not the case at Autoplicity. I had questions after my item shipped, they responded promptly and professionally multiple times, and were totally willing to work with me. Very satisfying, would not hesitate to order from Autoplicity again.
