About Tie Down Engineering

Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Tie Down Engineering has spent more than five decades earning its reputation as a global leader in custom manufacturing. What started as a focused effort to deliver better-engineered solutions for American industries has grown into a multi-division powerhouse serving markets that range from marine and mobile home to roofing, agriculture, renewable energy, and beyond. Every product Tie Down makes reflects an engineering-first philosophy — and, notably, they're all proudly made in the USA.

Tie Down operates six specialized manufacturing divisions, each dedicated to a specific market vertical. This structure lets the brand go deep rather than wide, developing purpose-built hardware that holds up under real-world conditions rather than generic components that merely check a box. Whether you're a boat owner, a contractor, or an OEM trailer manufacturer, there's a good chance Tie Down has already engineered the part you need.

Trailer & Marine Product Highlights

Among the brand's most recognized product lines are its trailer fenders, which are a staple for boat trailer owners and OEM builders alike. Tie Down offers fenders in galvanized steel, aluminum, and high-impact polyethylene, covering wheel sizes from 8 inches all the way up to 14–15 inches. Their innovative bracket-less plastic fender design mounts directly to the trailer frame without requiring separate fender brackets — a practical solution that simplifies installation and keeps the setup clean. UV-protected finishes on their plastic fenders resist fading, cracking, and degradation over time, making them a smart choice for trailers that see frequent saltwater exposure.

Equally important for safe trailering are Tie Down's safety chains, cables, and accessories. These zinc-plated and galvanized products serve as the critical backup connection between a tow vehicle and its trailer, providing peace of mind in the unlikely event of coupler failure. Tie Down's safety chain lineup spans Class 2 through Class 4 ratings — from 3,500 lb. to well beyond 5,000 lb. carrying capacities — ensuring there's a properly rated option for light boat trailers and heavier-duty towing applications alike. Chains are sold in pairs and come with durable S-hooks for straightforward installation.

Why Tie Down Engineering?

55+ years of manufacturing experience rooted in engineering excellence

American-made products built with domestic craftsmanship

Six specialized divisions serving marine, agricultural, roofing, and other industries

Broad material selection — galvanized steel, aluminum, and high-impact polyethylene options

OEM and aftermarket coverage for trailer builders and individual owners

For anyone who trailers a boat, hauls equipment, or maintains a fleet of utility trailers, Tie Down Engineering's catalog represents a reliable, well-engineered choice backed by decades of field-proven performance.

Product Details

The Tie Down Engineering 86467 High-Impact Pontoon Trailer Guide-Ons are built for pontoon boat owners who demand reliable, precise alignment even in rough conditions. Engineered to handle high winds and strong currents, these guide-ons take the stress out of loading and launching your pontoon boat solo or in challenging water environments.

Sold as a pair and designed to mount between the pontoons, these 30" tall guide-ons deliver the height and strength needed for larger pontoon boats. The posts are constructed from 2-1/2" square, 13-gauge hot-dip galvanized steel tubing, providing exceptional resistance to corrosion and long-lasting durability in harsh marine environments. Each post is wrapped in a non-marking molded PVC cover that protects your pontoon's finish during every launch and retrieval.

Key Features:

 • 30" tall high-impact guide-on posts — ideal for larger pontoon boats
 • Hot-dip galvanized 2-1/2" square, 13-gauge steel tube construction for long-lasting corrosion resistance
 • Non-marking molded PVC covers protect your pontoon boat's finish
 • Mounts between the pontoons for precise alignment during loading
 • Attaches to trailer cross members 2" wide by 2–3" high
 • All mounting hardware included for easy installation
 • Sold as a pair

Installation is straightforward — the guide-ons attach directly to trailer cross members and include all necessary mounting hardware. Whether you're dealing with wind, current, or a tricky ramp, the Tie Down 86467 keeps your pontoon lined up and on the trailer every time.

I received my order of Shurflo replacement o-rings very quickly - sooner than expected. Unfortunately, I really only needed 1 or 2 o-rings, but they are only offered in a pack of 10. I'll never use 10 o-rings, so it was wasteful spending. I shopped other companies, and could not find packs of 1 or 2, and Boatplicity was the least expensive for what is available on-line.

Great price and quick shipper. Thank you.
