BEP Marine

About BEP Marine

BEP Marine has been a cornerstone of the marine electrical industry since its founding in 1995 in Auckland, New Zealand. Rooted in New Zealand's world-class yachting culture — a scene shaped in no small part by successive America's Cup campaigns — BEP Marine built its reputation on engineering electrical products that could survive the most demanding conditions on the water and beyond. Today, the brand is part of the Navico Group under Brunswick Corporation, and its products are specified as original equipment by leading boat, emergency vehicle, and RV manufacturers worldwide.

Engineering for the Harshest Environments

What separates BEP Marine from generic electrical suppliers is a relentless focus on real-world performance. Every product in the BEP lineup is designed to meet exacting performance specifications, capable of withstanding prolonged exposure to salt air, moisture, vibration, and extreme temperatures — both at sea and on land. BEP backs this confidence with a "Trusted Quality" 5-year warranty across their product range, a testament to how thoroughly their components are tested before they reach your vessel.

BEP's engineering culture also prioritizes ease of integration. Whether you're wiring a simple single-battery sailboat or a complex multi-bank power system on a large cruiser, BEP products are designed to slot into both straightforward and comprehensive electrical architectures without hassle. Their innovative product lines — including the CZone digital switching system and the Pro Installer series — represent the cutting edge of onboard power management, allowing boaters to monitor and control circuits from touchscreen interfaces and minimizing valuable space in crowded electrical panels.

Core Product Categories

BEP Marine's catalog spans the full spectrum of marine power management. At the heart of their offering are battery switches, where BEP has pioneered design innovations for decades — from compact On/Off isolation switches to high-capacity selector switches rated at 400A continuous and 600A intermittent. Their award-winning EZ-Mount line (recipient of the prestigious METS DAME award) features an industry-standard footprint that clusters with other Pro Installer components, saving precious onboard space.

For remote power control and automated charging management, BEP's solenoids allow boaters to switch high-amperage loads using low-current control circuits — essential for bow thrusters, windlasses, and other high-draw accessories. The Digital Voltage Sensing Relay (DVSR) automates second battery bank charging with exceptional efficiency.

Rounding out the core lineup, BEP's battery disconnect switches deliver reliable isolation capability for single or dual battery banks, ensuring your vessel's electrical system can be safely de-energized for maintenance, storage, or emergency situations. Motorized disconnect variants allow remote operation, making them ideal for installations where the battery is difficult to access directly.

Who Uses BEP Marine?

BEP Marine serves both OEM boat builders and the marine aftermarket, with a product range trusted by recreational boaters, commercial operators, and emergency vehicle fleets across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Oceania. If your application demands reliable, durable, and intelligently designed electrical components, BEP Marine delivers solutions built to go the distance.

Product Details

The BEP Marine 710-140A Digital Voltage Sensing Relay (DVSR) is an intelligent battery management solution designed to charge multiple battery banks from a single charging source while maintaining complete isolation when not charging. This dual-voltage unit automatically detects and operates on either 12V or 24V DC systems, making it ideal for marine, RV, and commercial vehicle applications.

How It Works:

When the DVSR detects sufficient voltage rise on the primary battery bank, it automatically engages to allow the secondary battery bank to charge. Once charging stops and voltage drops, the relay immediately isolates the battery banks, ensuring your engine start batteries remain fully charged and ready. The advanced digital circuitry provides superior reliability with extremely low power consumption compared to traditional electromechanical relays.

Key Features:

 • Automatic 12V/24V DC voltage detection and operation
 • Charges engine starting batteries first before combining auxiliary bank
 • Protects start batteries from discharge by house loads
 • Isolates sensitive electronics from electrical surges generated by starter motors
 • Simple 3-wire installation leaves alternator wiring intact
 • No voltage drop unlike diode-based isolators
 • Digital circuitry ensures very low power consumption and enhanced performance
 • Optional remote sensing circuit connection from ignition switch for zero power draw when engine is off
 • Remote status LED output option for monitoring relay status
 • Ignition protected design for safe marine environment operation
 • Versatile mounting options: surface or panel mountable
 • Replaces previous BEP models 710-125A and 710-125A-DS

Applications:

Works with any single charging source including alternators, battery chargers, and solar charging systems. Perfect for vessels with separate house and engine battery banks, or any application requiring automatic battery bank isolation and charging management.

Installation:

The straightforward 3-wire connection integrates seamlessly with existing charging systems without modifying alternator wiring. Optional remote sensing wire can be connected to ignition switch for enhanced functionality and zero standby power consumption.

The exhaust system that I ordered has come timely manner. I have yet to install it, but I'm sure it is the correct part. I will return to shop in the future if I ever need a car part.
