BEP Marine

About BEP Marine

Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Rosedale, Auckland, New Zealand, BEP Marine has earned a reputation as one of the world's most trusted engineers of marine and RV electrical systems. From its roots in the world-renowned New Zealand marine industry — an industry shaped in part by the technical demands of America's Cup racing — BEP has consistently developed solutions that address the real, unforgiving challenges of life on the water.

Today, BEP operates as part of the Navico Group under Brunswick Corporation, alongside fellow electrical specialists such as Blue Sea Systems, Ancor, Marinco, and Mastervolt. This collaboration has allowed BEP to expand its product line while maintaining the solutions-focused engineering philosophy that originally set the brand apart. Every product in BEP's catalog is designed to withstand prolonged exposure to saltwater, vibration, and the extreme electrical demands of modern vessels — and each one is backed by BEP's industry-notable 5-year "Trusted Quality" warranty.

What BEP Marine Makes

BEP's specialty is onboard power management — the systems and components that keep a boat's electrical infrastructure safe, reliable, and easy to maintain. Their lineup covers everything from fundamental circuit protection to sophisticated digital switching technology. At the heart of their catalog are electrical parts and accessories engineered specifically for marine use, including bus bars, distribution studs, connectors, fuse holders, and switch panels rated for harsh saltwater environments.

Among BEP's most recognized product families are their battery switches, a segment where the brand has long been considered a pioneer. Whether you need a straightforward selector switch for a simple single-battery setup or a remote-operated motorized unit for a complex twin-engine configuration, BEP has engineered a solution. Their manual battery switches — including the widely used MD and Pro Installer series — are built for easy placement near the battery bank and deliver dependable isolation performance in demanding conditions.

BEP's circuit breakers and breaker modules protect onboard wiring from overloads and short circuits, forming an essential layer of safety for any vessel's electrical system. Rounding out their circuit protection offering, BEP solenoids serve as the muscle behind remote battery switching and high-current circuit control — translating low-power control signals into the high-amperage switching that serious marine electrical systems demand.

Why Boaters and Installers Trust BEP

BEP products are specified as original equipment by leading recreational and commercial boat manufacturers worldwide — a testament to their durability and engineering quality. Their designs emphasize ease of installation: modular components snap together to reduce wiring clutter, and clear labeling simplifies troubleshooting. Whether you're an experienced marine electrician or a do-it-yourself boater upgrading your vessel's power system, BEP Marine products are designed to integrate smoothly and perform reliably for years.

Product Details

The BEP Marine 710-140A Digital Voltage Sensing Relay (DVSR) is an intelligent battery management solution designed to charge multiple battery banks from a single charging source while maintaining complete isolation when not charging. This dual-voltage unit automatically detects and operates on either 12V or 24V DC systems, making it ideal for marine, RV, and commercial vehicle applications.

How It Works:

When the DVSR detects sufficient voltage rise on the primary battery bank, it automatically engages to allow the secondary battery bank to charge. Once charging stops and voltage drops, the relay immediately isolates the battery banks, ensuring your engine start batteries remain fully charged and ready. The advanced digital circuitry provides superior reliability with extremely low power consumption compared to traditional electromechanical relays.

Key Features:

 • Automatic 12V/24V DC voltage detection and operation
 • Charges engine starting batteries first before combining auxiliary bank
 • Protects start batteries from discharge by house loads
 • Isolates sensitive electronics from electrical surges generated by starter motors
 • Simple 3-wire installation leaves alternator wiring intact
 • No voltage drop unlike diode-based isolators
 • Digital circuitry ensures very low power consumption and enhanced performance
 • Optional remote sensing circuit connection from ignition switch for zero power draw when engine is off
 • Remote status LED output option for monitoring relay status
 • Ignition protected design for safe marine environment operation
 • Versatile mounting options: surface or panel mountable
 • Replaces previous BEP models 710-125A and 710-125A-DS

Applications:

Works with any single charging source including alternators, battery chargers, and solar charging systems. Perfect for vessels with separate house and engine battery banks, or any application requiring automatic battery bank isolation and charging management.

Installation:

The straightforward 3-wire connection integrates seamlessly with existing charging systems without modifying alternator wiring. Optional remote sensing wire can be connected to ignition switch for enhanced functionality and zero standby power consumption.

The exhaust system that I ordered has come timely manner. I have yet to install it, but I'm sure it is the correct part. I will return to shop in the future if I ever need a car part.

good
