The Simrad NF80 is a Non Follow-Up (NFU) remote steering lever designed for use with Simrad autopilot systems. It adds a dedicated helm station for heading adjustments, course changes, and hand steering — ideal for fly-bridges, dual-helm setups, and any installation that benefits from distributed autopilot control. The spring-loaded lever returns to center automatically when released.
Non Follow-Up Steering Control
With Non Follow-Up steering, the rudder moves as long as the lever is held to maximum port or starboard position. When the lever is released, the rudder stops and holds its current angle until a new input is made. This puts you in direct, intuitive control of your boat's steering from any autopilot station on board.
Integrated 1.7-Inch Display
The NF80 features a built-in 1.7-inch (128 x 64 pixel) display with white LED backlighting that allows you to monitor and adjust course, heading, rudder angle, and autopilot mode without returning to the main helm. Supported steering modes include Non Follow-Up (NFU), Auto, NoDrift, and Nav.
Simple NMEA 2000 Installation
The NF80 connects to your existing Simrad autopilot network via a single NMEA 2000 Micro-C connection — no complex wiring required. It supports both flush-panel and external bulkhead or desktop mounting using the included hardware. The unit is compatible with AP24, AP28, AP70, and AP80 autopilots, as well as NSx Series multifunction displays.
