Ancor 100825 Red 18 AWG Tinned Copper Marine Wire 250 Foot

Manufacturer

Ancor

<h3>Ancor: The Standard in Marine Grade® Electrical Wiring</h3><p>When it comes to marine electrical systems, few names carry as much weight as Ancor. For over four decades, Ancor has held its position as the originator and market leader of <strong>Marine Grade®</strong> wire and wire management solutions. What sets Ancor apart is not just longevity — it is a relentless commitment to engineering products specifically for the harshest environments on earth: saltwater, intense UV exposure, engine-bay vibration, and extreme temperature swings that would destroy ordinary electrical wire.</p><p><a href="/7231-ancor-wire-cable-201198">Ancor wire and cable</a> forms the backbone of countless boat electrical systems, and for good reason. Every conductor is built from tinned copper stranding, a critical distinction from standard bare copper wire. Tinning each individual strand electroplates it with a protective layer that guards against the corrosion and electrolysis that can silently wick through unprotected wire and cause total system failure. The proprietary premium vinyl insulation stays flexible even in extreme cold down to -40°F, while simultaneously resisting saltwater, battery acid, oil, gasoline, and ultraviolet radiation.</p><p>Ancor products are manufactured to precise specifications and designed to meet UL, ABYC, NMMA, and USCG standards — and in many cases exceed them. This industry involvement means that when you wire a boat with Ancor, you are building to a standard recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard, the American Boat and Yacht Council, and the National Marine Manufacturers Association.</p><p>The Ancor catalog spans a comprehensive range of marine electrical needs. Their <a href="/7231-ancor-primary-wire-10128">primary wire</a> is available across a full spectrum of gauges and in every color recommended by ABYC standards, making circuit identification straightforward and code-compliant. For high-current applications like engine starting and battery banks, Ancor's <a href="/7231-ancor-battery-cable-2500">battery cable</a> uses ultra-flexible Type 3 stranding that makes routing heavy-gauge conductors through tight bilge spaces far more manageable. Completing the connection, Ancor's <a href="/7231-ancor-battery-lugs-200145">battery lugs</a> are manufactured from 100% heavy-duty annealed tinned copper to maximize current flow while resisting the corrosive marine atmosphere at every terminal point.</p><p>Beyond conductors, Ancor's product ecosystem includes terminals, connectors, heat shrink tubing, cable ties, and professional installation tools — all engineered to work together as a unified system. Whether you are rewiring a center console from scratch or making targeted repairs to an aging offshore cruiser, Ancor provides the components to do the job right the first time.</p><h3>Why Ancor Is the Go-To Brand for Marine Electricians</h3><ul style="list-style:disc"><li><strong>Tinned Copper Construction:</strong> Every strand is individually electroplated to fight corrosion and electrolysis at the conductor level.</li><li><strong>Proprietary Insulation:</strong> UV, saltwater, acid, oil, and abrasion resistance rated at 600 volts and 221°F dry / 167°F wet.</li><li><strong>Standards Compliance:</strong> Meets and exceeds UL 1426, ABYC, NMMA, and USCG (CFR Title 46) requirements.</li><li><strong>Complete System Approach:</strong> Wire, cable, terminals, connectors, lugs, and tools all designed for compatibility.</li><li><strong>ABYC Color Coding:</strong> Full range of color options ensures proper circuit identification per industry standards.</li></ul><p>From weekend fishing boats to long-range bluewater cruisers, Ancor's Marine Grade® product line delivers the reliability that on-the-water safety demands. Product Details

The Ancor 100825 is a 250-foot spool of red 18 AWG marine-grade tinned copper wire designed for demanding marine electrical applications. This premium wire exceeds UL 1426, ABYC, and US Coast Guard Charter boat (CFR Title 46) standards, making it ideal for boats, RVs, and other harsh-environment electrical systems.

Key Features:

  • 18 AWG tinned copper construction with ultra-flexible Type 3 stranding for maximum corrosion resistance and vibration tolerance
  • Premium vinyl insulation rated for 600V, 105°C dry and 75°C wet conditions
  • Stays flexible in extreme cold temperatures down to -40°F/-40°C
  • Resists salt water, battery acid, oil, gasoline, heat, abrasion, and UV radiation
  • Red color coding for easy circuit identification
  • Nominal outer diameter: 7/64 inches (3mm)
  • 250-foot spool length provides ample wire for multiple projects

Ancor marine wire is engineered to outlast standard automotive wire in marine environments. The tinned copper stranding provides superior protection against corrosion and electrolysis compared to bare copper, while the Type 3 ultra-flexible construction resists fatigue from constant flexing and vibration. This wire is an excellent choice for boat rewiring, panel installations, and any marine electrical project requiring reliable, long-lasting connections.

shipping I think is a little high.

good and fast

Great price, fast shipping, exactly what I was looking for

I recently ordered an Invidia N1 exhaust system from autoplicity and to be honest I was concerned at first my order was not shipped for 2 days, I know I was just very impatient. I'm not sure how their business works but 2 days of processing? I emailed their shipping department and got an email back explaining everything and it also said I would get an email today or the next day and sure enough I did! Had the lowest price for the part I was looking for. Also all the good reviews just made me want to order from this company plus the good prices you can't go wrong.

Nice website.

Great website, fast and easy!

Easy as pie.

Great!

Best prices anywhere!! They take care of their customers, too!

Great!

you all do a fine job

** Update 4/18/2012<br>Everything arrived in several different shipments. I did experience a problem with some FelPro Headbolts that I had ordered. I ordered two and only received one, but after a short phone call with Paul from shipping, the problem was fixed and my second set of bolts were shipped.<br><br>They had the cheapest price that I could find on several products. I did not like the order confirmations on there website as I had to copy and paste to search for my tracking number. I am supposed to receive my order today and I am scared because the two weights do not match up. Autoplicity says 37.7 pounds and fedex says 3.8 pounds. Maybe there is more than one tracking number and I just do not know.
