<h3>About Furuno Marine Electronics</h3><p>Few names carry as much weight on the water as <strong>Furuno</strong>. Founded in 1948 in Japan and operating in North America through Furuno USA — headquartered in Camas, Washington — Furuno has spent more than seven decades pushing the boundaries of what marine electronics can do. From recreational anglers hunting offshore structure to commercial fishermen working in remote ocean environments, Furuno's instruments have earned a reputation for reliability, accuracy, and innovation that few competitors can match.</p><p>Furuno's commitment to research and development has produced some of the most recognizable product families in the marine industry. At the top of the lineup sit the brand's celebrated <a href="/200956-multi-function-display-systems-furuno-11256">Multi-Function Display Systems</a> — most notably the NavNet TZtouch series — which integrate radar, sonar, GPS, AIS, and charting onto a single touchscreen interface. These systems are a favorite among serious boaters who want a unified, connected bridge without the clutter of multiple standalone units.</p><p>For anglers and cruisers who prioritize precise positioning and underwater awareness, Furuno's <a href="/200473-fishfinders-gps-chartplotters-furuno-11256">Fishfinders, GPS &amp; Chartplotters</a> represent decades of acoustic and satellite technology refinement. Furuno pioneered commercial fish-finding sonar and has carried that expertise directly into its recreational lineup, delivering clear, detailed bottom readings and target separation that help put fish in the boat.</p><p>When it comes to situational awareness, Furuno's Radars &amp; Autopilots are trusted on vessels of every size. The brand's DRS (Digital Radar Sensor) series employs solid-state and magnetron technologies to provide sharp, reliable target detection in congested harbors and open-ocean passages alike. Paired with Furuno autopilot systems, skippers can maintain precise headings and reduce fatigue on long passages.</p><p>Furuno also manufactures dependable <a href="/200280-compasses-furuno-11256">Compasses</a> designed to perform in demanding marine environments, as well as a broad range of <a href="/200714-navigation-parts-accessories-furuno-11256">Navigation Parts &amp; Accessories</a> that keep Furuno systems running at peak performance — from transducers and cables to mounting hardware and network components.</p><h3>Why Mariners Trust Furuno</h3><ul style="list-style:disc"><li><strong>Decades of Innovation:</strong> Furuno has been developing marine electronics since 1948, giving the brand an unmatched depth of real-world feedback and engineering experience.</li><li><strong>Commercial-Grade Reliability:</strong> Many Furuno products trace their lineage directly to commercial fishing and vessel-tracking applications, meaning recreational users benefit from rugged, proven designs.</li><li><strong>Integrated Ecosystems:</strong> Furuno's NavNet platform allows radar, sonar, GPS, and autopilot components to communicate seamlessly, reducing wiring complexity and improving situational awareness.</li><li><strong>Global Support Network:</strong> With a strong dealer and service network worldwide, Furuno owners have access to technical support and parts across major boating markets.</li></ul><p>Whether you are outfitting a center console for weekend fishing trips or equipping a long-range passagemaker for bluewater cruising, Furuno offers the instruments, integration, and track record to keep you informed and confident on the water.</p>

Product Details

The Furuno 1815 is a standalone radar system featuring an 8.4-inch color LCD display and a compact 4kW radome antenna, designed for pleasure craft, workboats, and small fishing vessels. This true color radar delivers professional performance at an accessible price point, with adjustable display colors for optimal viewing in varying light conditions. The gimbal-mounted display swivels for desktop installation, or can be flush-mounted with a simple 5-inch hole saw. The display carries an IPX6 waterproof rating for reliable operation in marine environments.

Advanced Target Tracking and Navigation

Furuno's Fast Target Tracking technology allows manual or automatic tracking of up to 10 targets, displaying speed and course vectors within seconds to quickly assess approaching vessels. The proprietary True Trail mode shows gradational target trails behind moving objects, enabling at-a-glance assessment of target movement. When connected to a Furuno AIS receiver, the system displays and tracks up to 100 AIS-equipped vessels with detailed information including speed, heading, and vessel identification.

Superior Clarity and Display Modes

True View mode maintains consistent echo display during turns, keeping targets visible on screen without waiting for updates—particularly valuable when maneuvering to avoid hazards. Advanced automatic gain reduction algorithms, refined over decades of Furuno innovation, eliminate sea clutter and rain interference without user input, ensuring clear target acquisition in both calm and severe weather conditions. Additional display modes include Off Center positioning and 2x Zoom expansion for detailed target examination.
