NewMar 2-3-70 Battery Isolator 70 Amp 2 Alternator 3 Bank

The NewMar 2-3-70 is a heavy-duty battery isolator designed to charge multiple batteries automatically from one or two alternators while preventing discharge between battery banks. This intelligent charging solution ensures each battery is charged according to its specific needs without overcharging, making it ideal for marine, RV, and commercial vehicle applications with 12-, 24-, or 36-volt negative ground DC systems.

Key Features:

• Dual alternator inputs with three independent battery bank outputs
• 70 amp maximum input capacity for robust charging performance
• Conservatively rated diodes with rustproof anodized aluminum heat sink case for superior heat dissipation
• Rated for systems up to 48 volts DC, negative ground
• Includes stainless steel mounting hardware and protective terminal covers
• Heavy-duty construction built for continuous duty cycles in demanding environments

Technical Specifications:

• Alternator Sources: 2
• Battery Banks: 3
• Maximum Amperage: 70A
• Terminal Size: 6mm stud terminals
• Operating Temperature Range: -40°F to +176°F (-40°C to +80°C)
• Voltage Drop: 0.7V at 50% load, 0.9V at full load
• Temperature Rise: 5°C at full rated current when mounted vertically
• Duty Cycle: Continuous rating to 50°C, derate linearly to 70% at 80°C

Important Compatibility Note: This battery isolator is not compatible with self-exciting alternators. Your alternator must have an external excitation lead. Consult your alternator manufacturer if you are unsure of your configuration.

The compact design measures 6.5 x 4.5 x 3.1 inches and weighs just 4 pounds, making installation straightforward in tight engine compartments. Mount vertically for optimum cooling performance.
