The Balmar 60YP-MC-120-J10 is a complete high-output marine alternator charging kit built around the 60-Series platform. Delivering 120 amps at 12 volts, this kit packs serious charging capacity into a compact, small-case design — making it an ideal upgrade or direct replacement for marine diesel inboard applications.
The alternator features a dual foot saddle mount (3.15") with Hitachi-style mounting geometry, commonly found on Yanmar, Westerbeke, Lehman, and Perkins-Sabre engines. The J10 AltMount® serpentine pulley provides a secure, efficient belt interface. An isolated ground design is included for compatibility with modern marine electrical systems. Maximum RPM is rated at 12,000 RPM, with output up to 60 amps at idle speeds.
A standout feature of the 60-Series is Balmar's patented Smart Ready® Technology, which provides built-in internal regulation. This enables the alternator to function as a standalone charge controller — ideal as a full-time regulator in simpler systems or as a reliable backup regulator in more complex charging setups.
