Groco SA-1000 SA Series 1" Bronze Raw Water Inboard Strainer with Monel Basket

The Groco SA-1000 is a 1-inch SA Series raw water strainer designed for installation on the suction side of marine engines, air conditioning units, and generator sets. Built with C84400 bronze construction, this strainer has been in production for more than 50 years and is trusted by boaters and marine professionals worldwide for reliable raw water filtration.

The SA-1000 comes standard with a Monel filter basket, offering superior corrosion resistance compared to standard stainless steel — making it an excellent choice for saltwater applications. The crystal-clear cast acrylic cylinder allows for quick visual inspection of the basket without tools, and the spin-off wingnut design makes servicing fast and easy.

The SA Series is available in pipe sizes from 1/2" through 3" NPT, and options include BSPP threaded ports and ABS or USCG-compliant stainless steel enclosures. For best performance, install vertically above the waterline, minimize 90-degree bends, double-clamp all hose connections, and use TFE thread tape on threaded fittings.
