How It Works:

When a vessel is submerged, increasing water pressure activates the HRU at depths between 1.5 and 4 meters. A spring-loaded mechanism cuts through the securing rod, releasing the EPIRB from its bracket so it can float free to the surface and begin transmitting distress signals to rescue services.
