About Odyssey Battery

When it comes to extreme-duty power storage, few names carry as much weight as ODYSSEY Battery. Manufactured by EnerSys Energy Products Inc. — a global leader in stored energy solutions with over a century of battery experience — ODYSSEY has earned a reputation for delivering performance that conventional lead-acid batteries simply cannot match. Whether you're pushing a high-horsepower street build, navigating open water, or running a fleet of commercial trucks, ODYSSEY batteries are engineered to handle it all.

The Technology Behind the Performance

At the heart of every ODYSSEY battery is proprietary Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology — what the brand calls AGM2. By using plates made of 99% pure lead rather than lead alloy, ODYSSEY is able to make those plates significantly thinner, packing more of them into the same battery footprint. More plates mean more surface area, and more surface area translates directly into greater power output. The result is a battery capable of delivering engine cranking pulses up to 3,125 amps for five seconds — double that of equally sized conventional lead-acid batteries.

But raw cranking power is only part of the story. ODYSSEY batteries are also engineered for deep cycle endurance, handling up to 400 charge-discharge cycles to 80% depth of discharge. The sealed AGM design makes them completely maintenance-free, and their rated operating temperature range of -40°F to 140°F means they perform reliably in the harshest of environments — from arctic cold starts to sweltering engine bays.

Built for Every Application

ODYSSEY's vehicle battery lineup spans an enormous range of applications: passenger cars, light and heavy-duty trucks, powersports vehicles, marine craft, RVs, and commercial fleets. The Performance Series and Extreme Series cover different power tiers, ensuring there's an ODYSSEY option for everything from a daily driver to a dedicated race car. Automotive auxiliary applications are also addressed, with purpose-built fitments for popular European and domestic vehicle platforms.

Backing every battery is an industry-leading warranty that provides full replacement coverage — not a pro-rata adjustment — giving buyers genuine confidence in the long-term investment. With a design life of 8–12 years and a service life of 3–10 years, ODYSSEY batteries are built to outlast the competition by a wide margin.

Complete the Installation

To complement their battery lineup, ODYSSEY also offers a range of battery hold down kits that are precision-machined to fit specific ODYSSEY models. Featuring a polished aluminum finish and all mounting hardware included, these kits are an ideal finishing touch whether you're adding a secondary battery for a high-watt audio system or securing a performance battery in a track-day application.

Product Details

The Odyssey ODP-AGM34M (34M-790) is a high-performance AGM marine dual-purpose battery that delivers both massive starting power and exceptional deep cycling capability. Like an athlete that is both a sprinter and a long distance runner, this battery has both massive starting power and amazing deep cycling capability – up to 400 cycles at 80% depth of discharge.

Advanced AGM Technology:

Odyssey Performance Series batteries contain flat plates made of 99% pure lead – not lead alloy, like many conventional batteries. Pure lead plates can be made thinner, so more of them fit in the battery. More plates mean more plate surface area, which means more power when you need it. The battery employs dry cell Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology to contain the acid.

Key Specifications:

 • 792 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) at 32°F
 • 1,500 Pulse Hot Cranking Amps
 • 114 minutes reserve capacity
 • 60 Ah capacity
 • Group Size 34M
 • 12 Volt battery
 • 3/8 in. positive and 5/16 in. negative thread stainless steel stud terminals

Superior Performance Features:

 • 70% longer cycle life than conventional deep cycle batteries
 • Twice the overall power and three times the life of conventional marine batteries
 • Capable of 100% recharge in 4-6 hours
 • Can be stored on open circuit for up to 2 years without recharging
 • Non-spillable design – can be mounted on any side in any position except inverted
 • Design protects against high impact shock and mechanical vibration
 • Operating temperatures from -40°F to 140°F
 • US Department of Transportation classified as a 'non-spillable' battery. No acid spills, no escaping gases.

Applications:

Ideal for trolling, starting, and for powering the many on-board electronic accessories common in today's boats and recreational vehicles. This battery is designed to handle the increased power demands of modern marine, RV, and automotive applications where both reliable starting and deep cycle capability are required.

Warranty: 36 months
