Sea-Dog Line 1471261 1/4" Captive Pin D-Shackle Forged 316 Stainless Steel

The Sea-Dog Line 1471261 is a 1/4" forged 316 stainless steel D-shackle engineered for demanding marine rigging applications. Its classic D-profile features straight sides and a U-shaped rounded bottom, making it well-suited for bi-directional load handling. Load force should be directed toward the rounded U-shaped end for maximum strength, as lateral loads on the straight sides can induce bending.

Key Features:

• Captive pin closure — when opened, the pin fully clears the shackle mouth and locks into a secure, recessed flush position, preventing accidental loss
• No-loss design — the pin remains captive at all times and cannot fall free, eliminating the risk of pin loss due to vibration or wave action
• Single-handed operation — the captive pin mechanism allows easy one-handed connect and disconnect, ideal for sailing and rigging tasks aloft or at sea
• Forged 316 stainless steel construction for exceptional strength and long-term corrosion resistance in saltwater environments
• Flush pin profile — unlike conventional screw-pin shackles that remain proud until partially unscrewed, this design sits flush immediately upon engagement
• Suitable for sheets, halyards, blocks, travelers, and general marine rigging

The Sea-Dog 1471261 captive pin D-shackle delivers a reliable, secure connection with the convenience of tool-free, one-handed operation — a smart choice for any rigging setup where safety and speed matter.
