The system uses 915 MHz radio frequencies combined with wake-on-radio technology to reduce average current draw by over 99% compared to conventional solutions, allowing the Hub and sensors to run for years on standard AA batteries without ever tapping into your boat's own power supply.
The Oversea Hub serves a dual function: it acts as a long-range cellular gateway, relaying sensor alerts to the owner's smartphone app via Verizon's IoT cellular platform, and it also operates as a standalone location tracker — even when GPS signals are unavailable. A growing ecosystem of wireless electronics parts and accessories plugs into the platform, including bilge high-water sensors, entry and hatch alarms, battery voltage monitors, and sound sensors that listen for smoke or CO alarms already aboard the vessel.
