The B&G H5000 Pilot Computer is a high-performance autopilot processor designed specifically for sailing applications, delivering race-proven steering algorithms for both cruising and competitive sailors. Developed in the Grand Prix sailing arena, this processor integrates seamlessly with the H5000 instrument system to provide professional-grade autopilot functionality.

Advanced Steering Capabilities:

  • Selectable steering modes including Heading, Wind, and Waypoint
  • AWA and TWA steering modes with Apparent, True, or Polar wind options for optimized performance under sail
  • Dedicated sailing algorithms including Gust Response, Recovery, and High Wind Response
  • Auto response switching and recovery mode for optimal course keeping in varying sea conditions

System Integration:

  • Allows expansion of H5000 systems with additional serial interfacing options
  • Compatible with B&G HGSC heading sensors, GPS sensors, third-party heading sensors, and NMEA 0183 devices
  • 12/24VDC drive output with reversing motor control rated at 30A continuous, 50A peak
  • Comprehensive NMEA 0183 sentence support for full system integration
