Product Details

The Seahawk C3 Fast Cure Catalyst is designed for marine construction and repairs with superior adhesion, strength, filling, and moisture barrier qualities at cooler temperatures and for a fast cure speed at room temperatures. This catalyst is designed for use with Hawk Epoxy R1 Resin and comes in a 0.4 pint (Size 1) container with color-coded labeling for easy system matching.

Ideal Applications:

  • When ambient temperatures are cool and other catalysts cure too slowly
  • When a particular job needs to cure quickly for engineering or schedule reasons
  • Building or repairing boats, planes, surfboards, canoes, and many other substrates

Technical Specifications:

  • Minimum recommended application temperature: 40°F
  • Mix ratio by volume: 5:1 (resin to catalyst)
  • Pot life of 4 oz batch: 9-12 minutes at 77°F
  • Thin film working time: 60-70 minutes at 77°F
  • Solid cure: 6-8 hours at 77°F
  • Full cure: 1-4 days at 77°F

Important Notes:

  • Choose the same System Size (1, 2, 3, or 4) for both the resin and catalyst to ensure the correct combination
  • Hawk Epoxy components have an extended shelf life and will last for several years
  • Storage temperature: 40°-90°F; keep containers sealed and in a well-ventilated area
  • Do not use under Sea Hawk marine wood varnish

I ordered a tire from thmotorsports that the manufacturer had discontinued two years earlier and which I could not find anywhere else, without checking customer reviews first, something I never do. Had I checked reviews first I would never have placed the order as the reviews I read after placing my order were uniformly awful. But rather than call and cancel the order, which was my first impulse, I resisted the urge to do so and waited. A day later, the shipping update said my tire had shipped, so I waited. Another day later, the shipping update said my tire would arrive a day later by the end of the day so I waited. On the appointed day, the tire, exactly the tire I had ordered and which was unavailable anywhere else, arrived at the end of the day, brand new, in perfect condition and I was utterly amazed. Thank you, thmotorsports, I am so glad I did not look at your reviews before placing my order.
