Sierra 118-7986-1 Fuel Water Separator Kit 10 Micron 3/8" Aluminum

The Sierra 118-7986-1 is a complete fuel water separator kit featuring a 10-micron tall filter element (18-7945) and aluminum mounting bracket (18-7775) with four 3/8" NPT ports for versatile installation. This kit also includes two 3/8" NPT brass plugs. Engineered to remove over 99.8% of emulsified water from gasoline, with filtration efficiency exceeding 90% at capturing particles as small as 10 microns.

Key Features:

• High flow capacity rated at 90 GPH to support even high-demand engines
• Approved for use with ethanol-blended fuels
• Heavy-wall filter canister with epoxy coating for enhanced corrosion protection
• Compact aluminum filter head with corrosion-resistant coating and 3/8" ports
• 10-micron filter element shaped into 66 pleats for maximum surface area
• Designed and recommended for all 2-cycle and 4-cycle gasoline engines

This 10-micron filtration system is specifically recommended to prevent damage to sensitive inboard, sterndrive, and outboard fuel injection systems. Water separating fuel filters trap small particles, emulsified water, and other contaminants that can contribute to blocked fuel systems, especially important as ethanol-blended fuels absorb more water and loosen more particulates than regular fuel.
