Sierra 118-79907 VST Fuel Filter for Yamaha Outboards

The Sierra 118-79907 is a high-quality replacement VST (Vapor Separator Tank) fuel filter designed for Yamaha 4-stroke outboard engines. This critical fuel system component filters fuel immediately before it is pressurized and delivered to the fuel injection system, removing impurities and debris that could damage fuel injectors or compromise engine performance.

Key Features:

• 20-micron filtration rating for effective debris and contaminant removal
• Engineered to meet or exceed OEM specifications for proper fit and function
• Direct replacement for Yamaha OEM part number 60V-24251-01-00
• Compatible with multiple Yamaha outboard models from 150HP to 300HP
• Designed for 2005-2010 model year Yamaha LZ, VZ, and Z series engines

The VST filter is located inside the Vapor Separator Tank and attaches to the high-pressure electric fuel pump. This filter represents the final stage of fuel filtration before fuel reaches the injectors, making it essential for maintaining optimal engine performance. Regular replacement helps prevent hard starting, rough idling, poor acceleration, and potential fuel system damage. Yamaha recommends replacing this filter every 300 hours of operation when other fuel system filters have been properly maintained.
