Product Details

The Sierra 18-79901 is a replacement Vapor Separator Tank (VST) fuel filter designed specifically for Yamaha outboard engines. This critical fuel system component filters out debris and contaminants before fuel enters the engine, ensuring optimal performance and engine longevity.

Key Features:

  • Direct replacement for Yamaha OEM part number 65L-13915-00-00
  • Also replaces Mallory 9-37968
  • Manufactured by Sierra to meet or exceed OEM specifications
  • Filters fuel just before it's pressurized into the fuel injection rails
  • Essential protection against fuel system deposits and blockages

Compatible with Yamaha Outboard Models:

  • L225 (1997-1998)
  • L250 (1997-1998)
  • S225 (1997-1998)
  • S250 (1997-1998)
  • V200 (1998)
  • V225 (1998)

The VST filter is located in a critical position where deposits and gum can form, particularly with untreated fuel. Regular replacement of this filter is essential for maintaining your Yamaha outboard's fuel system health. Yamaha recommends replacement after every 300 hours of engine operation when other filters have been properly maintained and treated fuel is used.

This Sierra replacement filter provides reliable filtration performance to protect your fuel injectors and ensure smooth engine operation. Quality fuel filtration prevents poor acceleration, rough idling, and stalling issues that can result from contaminated fuel.
