Stromberg Carlson Boarding Steps: Safe, Reliable RV Entry Since 1959

Stromberg Carlson Products, Inc. is a name that has been synonymous with quality RV accessories for decades. As a third-generation, family-owned company based in Traverse City, Michigan, Stromberg Carlson has been engineering solutions for the RV aftermarket since 1959. Nowhere is that commitment to craftsmanship more evident than in their line of boarding steps — purpose-built to make entry and exit safer and more convenient for RV and camper owners of all kinds.

The Flexco Step Line: Pull-Out Convenience Built to Last

The crown jewel of Stromberg Carlson's boarding step lineup is the Flexco series of manual pull-out steps, designed primarily for travel trailers but compatible with a broad range of RV applications. These steel steps are engineered with a 300-lb weight capacity, delivering the kind of structural confidence that matters when you're stepping in and out of your rig day after day. The Flexco steps fold neatly up underneath the camper for simple, out-of-the-way storage while traveling, and are designed to replace virtually any step already on the market — making them a go-to upgrade or replacement option.

The Flexco lineup covers an impressive range of configurations to match different RV door heights and entry requirements:

• Single steps — available in 20" and 24" widths, with low-profile (2.75" rise) and standard (7.5" rise) options
• Double steps — available in 20" and 24" widths with an 8" rise per step
• Triple steps — available in 24" width with 8" or 9.5" rise configurations
• Quad steps — for the tallest entry heights, available in 24" width

This wide matrix of sizes ensures that whether you're working with a compact travel trailer or a full-sized fifth wheel, there's a Flexco configuration that fits your exact drop and door width.

Aluminum Platform Steps: Lightweight and Built for Everyday Use

Beyond pull-out steps, Stromberg Carlson also offers aluminum platform steps — a versatile freestanding option for RVers who need a sturdy, portable boost at the door. Constructed from corrosion-resistant aluminum, these steps are durable without being heavy, and feature rubber feet to prevent slipping on various surfaces. Select models like the PA100 can even function at two different heights, adding flexibility for uneven ground or varying entry heights.
