Airmar NMEA 2000 Interface Cables and Connectors
Airmar NMEA 2000 Interface Cables & Connectors: Purpose-Built for Marine Networks
When it comes to connecting marine electronics with confidence, Airmar brings the same engineering discipline to its cabling hardware that has defined its sensor products for decades. Airmar Technology Corporation, a global leader in ultrasonic transducers and CHIRP sonar technology, has launched a line of NMEA 2000® approved cables and connectors engineered with premium materials to deliver long-term reliability, durability, and full standards compliance.
Premium Construction for Demanding Marine Environments
What sets Airmar apart in the NMEA 2000 Interface Cables and Connectors category is the quality of materials chosen for real-world offshore and onboard conditions. The product line features metal connectors made from zinc alloy with gold-plated pins to ensure secure electrical connections in harsh marine environments, with materials and construction intended to improve resistance to corrosion, vibration, and signal degradation.
By leveraging established manufacturing expertise and economies of scale, Airmar delivers premium construction quality at a more competitive price point than many existing NMEA 2000 cabling solutions. All cables and connectors are manufactured in the USA, fully NMEA 2000 approved, and compatible with all NMEA 2000-compliant networks.
A Complete Ecosystem of Backbone Components
Airmar offers a full line of NMEA 2000® cables and connectors, including backbone cables, single-ended cables, drop cables, power tees, tee connectors, termination resistors, and field-attachable connectors. This comprehensive range means boaters and system integrators can source everything needed to build, expand, or service a distributed marine network from a single trusted manufacturer.
The product range supports key backbone components such as drop cables, tee connectors, terminators, power tees, and field-attachable connectors, and these components are designed to maintain proper network topology and impedance control — critical for reliable data transmission across NMEA 2000 systems.
Seamless Integration with Airmar Smart Sensors
Airmar’s cables and connectors are especially well-suited for use with its own sensor ecosystem. NMEA 2000 versions of Airmar’s Smart transducers output standard NMEA 2000 data formats and include an NMEA 2000 drop cable ready to plug into a T-connector on a network backbone, with the transducers powered directly by the network. For weather station installations, Airmar also offers an NMEA 2000 connector cable designed specifically for connecting an Airmar Weather Station to the network backbone, with a built-in terminator for proper network termination.
Airmar’s WS-CC Combination NMEA 0183/2000 cable kit allows sensor data to be shown on both NMEA 0183 devices and NMEA 2000 networked instruments simultaneously — a valuable feature for vessels with mixed-generation electronics. Since 1982, Airmar has been a leading choice for multisensor instruments, and the company originated the Smart™ Multisensor Instrument delivering data directly via NMEA 0183 and across the complete network via NMEA 2000®. That heritage means their cabling solutions are designed from the inside out to serve the products they connect.
