Dicor Specialty Coatings & Paints: Purpose-Built Protection for RV Roofs
When it comes to defending an RV roof against the relentless punishment of UV rays, temperature swings, rain, and road vibration, few names carry more weight than Dicor. Founded in 1984, Dicor Corporation has been a leading supplier of component products to RV manufacturers and other industries, and their line of specialty coatings and paints sits at the heart of that legacy. These aren't commodity products pulled off a hardware store shelf — they are engineered specifically for the unique demands of RV roofing substrates.
A Coating System for Every Roof Type
What sets Dicor apart in the specialty coatings space is its substrate-specific approach. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution, Dicor has developed distinct coating formulations matched to the most common RV roof materials:
- EPDM & PVC Rubber Roofs: Dicor's specially formulated Acrylic Coating is a high-solids acrylic elastomer coating system consisting of several components that work in various combinations depending on the roof substrate and condition, delivering superior weatherability, ultraviolet resistance, fire retardancy, elongation, flexibility, and adhesion.
- Metal Roofs: Dicor's Metal RV Roof Coating forms a rubber-like blanket of protection using 100% Acrylic Resin in a super bright white finish that helps keep interiors cooler, while the dry paint film resists mildew and algae and is easy to apply.
- Fiberglass Roofs: Dicor Fiberglass RV Roof Coating protects and beautifies fiberglass and previously coated RV roofs, formulated with 100% Acrylic Fiberglass resins to form a flexible coating that expands and contracts with roof movement, in a brilliant white finish that provides superior reflectivity to lower interior temperatures.
The Signature Extended Life Line: Dicor's Premium Tier
For RV owners seeking the longest possible service life, Dicor offers the Signature Extended Life series. Dicor's Signature Extended Life RV Roof Coating is a 100% Silicone Elastomeric coating system formulated to provide the ultimate durability and longevity to your RV, creating a barrier that is resistant to natural weathering, extremely durable, breathable, watertight, and weatherproof. The Signature line carries an unprecedented 20-year original owner warranty, making it one of the most confident long-term investments available for RV roof maintenance.
A Commercial-Grade, Multi-Step System
A key differentiator for Dicor's coating products is their commercial-grade, multi-component system design. The Acrylic Roof Coating is the second part of a two-part system and must follow the application of Dicor's Cleaner/Activator, which ensures effective roof preparation and adhesion. This disciplined approach — clean, prime, coat — mirrors professional roofing standards and is a primary reason Dicor products are trusted by both RV manufacturers and DIY owners alike. The coating's elastomeric nature allows it to flex with the roof, preventing cracks and leaks that can result from the natural expansion and contraction of the roof material.
Whether you're refreshing a weathered rubber roof, recoating a fiberglass panel, or protecting a metal surface from rust and UV fade, Dicor's specialty coatings and paints deliver a system built with decades of RV-specific engineering behind it.
