Standard Horizon External Speakers & Hailer Horns: Built to Be Heard on the Water

When safety at sea depends on being heard, the quality of your hailer horn and external speaker system is not a detail to overlook. Standard Horizon has long been one of the marine industry's most trusted names in VHF communication, and their lineup of VHF external speakers and hailer horns reflects the same engineering discipline that defines their radios and loud hailers — purpose-built for the harsh realities of life on the water.

A Ecosystem Designed to Work Together

What sets Standard Horizon apart in this category is that their external speakers and hailer horns are engineered as integral components of a broader marine communication system, not afterthoughts. Products like the MLS-410SP external speaker and the MLS-410LH intercom speaker are designed specifically to pair with Standard Horizon VHF transceivers and loud hailers, ensuring plug-and-play compatibility and optimized audio performance across the whole setup.

The MLS-410LH intercom speaker, for example, is redesigned for clear, crisp, and audible reception, acting as a secondary speaker and PA for receiving and transmitting via a Push-To-Alert (PTA) button — flush or bracket mountable, compact, and weather-resistant. It is purpose-paired with the VLH-3000A loud hailer system, making two-way intercom communication genuinely seamless.

Rugged Horns for Every Deck Configuration

For vessels that need a reliable hailer horn or PA speaker mounted on deck, Standard Horizon offers both round and rectangular form factors. The 220SW Round Hailer/PA Horn is an economical hailer and foghorn solution rated at 4 ohms impedance with 20W continuous audio output , and is compatible with Standard Horizon VHF/FM transceivers and loud hailers. The 240SW Deck Horn/Hailer/PA Speaker delivers clear, powerful sound for marine communication and safety, featuring waterproof, UV-resistant ABS construction with stainless steel fasteners for reliable long-term performance. The 240SW achieves a sensitivity rating of 103 dB ± 1W/1M , ensuring your voice carries across the water even in challenging conditions.

Intercom Speakers That Extend Your Reach Below Decks

For boaters who need interior or multi-zone communication, Standard Horizon's intercom speaker accessories extend the capabilities of the VLH-3000A hailer system throughout the vessel. Serving as a secondary intercom speaker for VLH-3000A loud hailer systems, these units deliver clear, crisp audio for both receive and push-to-alert transmission, with flush or bracket mounting and a compact, weather-resistant design that enhances onboard communication and public address capabilities.

Backed by a Three-Year Waterproof Warranty

Standard Horizon's loud hailer ecosystem carries a 3-year waterproof warranty and is manufactured in Japan , a reflection of the brand's commitment to build quality and long-term reliability. Whether you are outfitting a sport fishing boat, a coastal cruiser, or a working vessel, Standard Horizon's external speakers and hailer horns offer a level of integration and durability that generic alternatives simply cannot match.
