Sea-Dog Line 8008017 8 AWG Black Marine Primary Wire 500 ft Spool

The Sea-Dog Line 8008017 is a 500-foot spool of 8 AWG black tinned copper stranded primary wire, purpose-built for marine electrical applications. Designed specifically for the harsh marine environment, this wire delivers reliable performance in bilges, engine rooms, and throughout the vessel where moisture, vibration, and heat resistance are essential.

Constructed with annealed, finely stranded copper conductors and a tinned finish, this wire resists corrosion while maintaining excellent conductivity — a critical advantage over bare copper wire in saltwater and freshwater boating environments. The fine stranding also provides superior flexibility and vibration resistance, making it ideal for routing through tight spaces and securing to moving components.

Key Features:

• 8 AWG gauge — suitable for high-current marine circuits
• Tinned copper stranded conductor for corrosion resistance and improved conductivity
• Annealed copper for added flexibility and vibration resistance
• Rated 600V, 105°C dry / 75°C wet
• Oil resistant insulation
• ABYC color-standard compliant — black for negative/ground circuits
• UL Listed Boat Cable
• 500-foot spool for bulk wiring projects
• Made in the U.S.A.

This wire is an excellent choice for professional marine installers and serious DIY boaters completing new builds, rewires, or electrical upgrades. The 500-foot bulk spool provides ample wire for large vessels or multiple circuit runs, and the black color meets ABYC wiring standards for DC negative and grounding conductors.
