Wichard 1402W Captive Pin D Shackle 5mm 3/16" Grade 316L Stainless Steel

The Wichard 1402W is a captive pin "D" shackle forged from grade 316L stainless steel, engineered for demanding marine and rigging applications. The 5mm (3/16") pin diameter delivers outstanding working and breaking loads while the corrosion-resistant construction ensures long-term reliability in saltwater environments.

What sets this shackle apart is its captive pin design: the pin remains physically connected to the shackle body at all times — even when fully opened — eliminating the risk of pin loss overboard or during rigging operations. The pin locks securely into one of several indentations on the body, preventing accidental loosening from vibration or load cycling. Single-handed operation makes it ideal for quick, safe adjustments on deck.

Key Features:

• Forged grade 316L stainless steel construction for maximum corrosion resistance
• Captive pin permanently attached to the shackle body — cannot be lost even when open
• Pin locks into indentations to prevent loosening from vibration
• Outstanding working and breaking load ratings
• CE marked; WLL certified for industrial lifting applications
• Single-handed operation for ease of use and added safety
• 5mm (3/16") pin diameter — ideal for blocks, halyards, and attachment points

The Wichard 1402W is CE marked and carries a Working Load Limit (WLL) rating for industrial applications, with a safety factor of 5 times the breaking load. It is well-suited for standard shackle attachment applications including blocks, heads, and similar rigging hardware.
