Product Details

The Star Brite 027205 is a high-viscosity synthetic blend lower unit gear lube formulated in SAE 80W-90 viscosity, available in a convenient 5-gallon pail for professional and high-volume use. Engineered specifically for outboard and sterndrive lower units over 100 HP, this gear oil delivers reliable protection in demanding marine environments.

Key Features:

  • Synthetic blend formulation for superior long-term performance over conventional gear oils
  • High viscosity SAE 80W-90 rating ensures a stable lubricating film under heavy loads
  • Special extreme pressure (EP) and anti-wear additives protect gears and bearings
  • Outstanding resistance to rust, corrosion, and thermal breakdown
  • Wide temperature range protection for year-round reliability
  • Meets or exceeds API GL-5, MT-1 service, SAE J2360, and Mack GO-J specifications
  • Compatible with Mercury®, MerCruiser®, Johnson®, Evinrude®, OMC®, Force®, Mariner®, Nissan®, Suzuki®, Yamaha®, and Volvo® lower units
  • Meets or exceeds OEM requirements — will not void manufacturer warranties

The 5-gallon bulk size is ideal for marinas, dealerships, and service technicians performing frequent lower unit fluid changes. Star Brite's synthetic blend formula keeps gear cases clean and protected season after season.

Top notch business prompt on time

We saw this exact product at Bass Pro Shop for 200 and only paid less than 120.00 on this site.

The item I bought was one to replace something I thought I had accidentally thrown away. A couple days after the boatplicity item arrived I located the like item I already had. I initiated the return process with boatplicity, as I no longer had need of the item. I completed the return request stuff and it said I would be contacted to continue the process but no one has contacted me.

Ordered 4 winter tires, which were affordable and in brand new condition. Shipping was fast. 5 star service.

So good so far ,

The website was very easy to use and had the prop I was looking for.

Online ordering was easy, the prices are good, and fast delivery. Over all it was a pleasure doing business with them.
