Unlike conventional worm gear or T-bolt clamps, the Trident #730 Series uses an active clamping mechanism. Virtually all rubber hoses undergo cold flow compression after initial installation, which can result in a torque loss exceeding 80% of installation torque. Additionally, metal fittings and connections expand when heated and contract when cooled. Standard passive clamps cannot compensate for these changes without manual re-tightening. The Trident constant torque design continuously monitors and compensates for these dimensional changes by actually altering its diameter through a unique worm gear Belleville spring assembly, maintaining consistent clamping force at all times.
