3M Wool Compounding Pad Dual-Sided Buffing Pads and Applicators

3M Wool Compounding Pads are built for an aggressive cut and a smooth finish. They are used for compounding paint, clear coat, gelcoat and other composite surfaces on cars, trucks, boats, RVs and aircraft. These buffing pads work with rubbing compound to remove sand scratches, oxidation and other paint defects before polishing.

Key Features:

• Wool construction: Blended or 100 percent wool cuts fast and consistently. Wool also runs cooler than foam because it creates less friction and releases heat through the fibers.
• Untwisted wool yarn: Looser, more spread-out fibers make a fuller pad. This gives better handling and broader surface contact on large areas.
• Dual-sided screw-on design: A stiff, durable central hub supports the wool during flat or aggressive compounding. The pad flexes in use, which lowers the risk of burning the surface.
• Quick pad changes: Dual-sided pads attach to rotary buffers and other power tools with a compatible 3M adapter, sold separately.
• Part of a system: The pads are designed to work with 3M Perfect-It compounds and the Perfect-It paint finishing system.

Wool pads give the operator smoother, more controlled application than flat foam pads. That makes them a good choice for heat-sensitive areas such as spoilers and bumpers. 3M is a trusted name in surface finishing and abrasives. These compounding pads are a reliable first step in paint defect repair for professional body shops and serious detailers.
