Product Details

The Lithium Pros Marine Starting Battery with NMEA 2000 is a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) engine start battery for outboard and inboard marine applications. It is also called a marine cranking battery or lithium boat starter battery. It is part of the Lithium Pros N Series. The N Series builds on the company's M Series LiFePO4 batteries and adds built-in NMEA 2000 connectivity.

Key Features:

  • NMEA 2000 connectivity: A waterproof port connects to your boat's NMEA 2000 backbone. Compatible multifunction displays can then show voltage, state of charge, time remaining and temperature.
  • Certified monitoring: The embedded BM-21 battery monitor is NMEA 2000 certified. Lithium Pros introduced the first NMEA 2000 certified lithium iron phosphate battery in 2021.
  • Scalable networking: Up to fifty N Series packs can share the same network address space. This suits house banks and trolling motor systems.
  • More power: The batteries hold higher voltage under load and recharge faster than lead-acid batteries.
  • Lighter weight: Lithium construction weighs far less than comparable AGM batteries.
  • Faster recharging: The batteries accept charge current much faster than lead-acid.
  • Longer service life: LiFePO4 chemistry offers several times the cycle life of standard lead-acid batteries.
  • High efficiency: The manufacturer rates them at about 96% efficiency in converting input energy into stored energy, versus roughly 75% for lead-acid.
  • Marine-ready construction: The batteries are built with EV-grade cells that pass IEC 62133 testing. The rigid IP67 enclosure resists salt spray and momentary submersion, and the design is ABYC E-13 compliant. Internal supports help absorb vibration.
  • Made in the USA: Each battery is designed, assembled and tested in Tennessee. Every pack passes final checks that include a full cycle test.

These batteries suit saltwater center consoles, offshore boats, bass boats with a NMEA 2000 network, and vessels with complex electrical loads. Fleet managers and charter captains can also use them to monitor several packs in real time.
