New England Ropes 3-Strand Nylon Mooring Pendant

The New England Ropes 3-Strand Nylon Mooring Pendant is a ready-to-use mooring pendant (also called a mooring pennant or mooring line) that connects your boat to its mooring buoy. It is made from New England Ropes' Premium 3-Strand Nylon line. Nylon is long-wearing and abrasion resistant, and it stretches to absorb the shock loads a mooring system puts on the boat.

Key Features:

• Premium 3-strand nylon construction: high-tenacity marine nylon that resists abrasion and has good elongation
• Galvanized thimble: a factory-spliced, heavy-duty galvanized thimble on the buoy end protects the eye from wear
• Soft eye: a professionally spliced soft eye on the boat end slips over a cleat or bow fitting
• Chafe protection: an optional Cordura chafe sleeve can be added to improve abrasion resistance at chafe points
• Made in the USA by New England Ropes, a respected name in marine rope

New England Ropes recommends fitting a swivel at the buoy. A swivel helps prevent the rope from twisting, which can cause hockles or let the rope fall out of lay. Inspect the pendant regularly, especially at chafe points and at the thimble, and replace it when it shows wear.
