Pettit Paint Hydrocoat Eco Antifouling Paint

Pettit Paint Hydrocoat Eco is a water-based, copper-free, self-polishing ablative antifouling paint (bottom paint) for boats. It is designed for multi-season protection against marine growth in both saltwater and freshwater. It combines the metal-free biocide Econea with a slime-fighting inhibitor. Because the paint is water-based, it replaces the harsh solvents found in most bottom paints.

Key Features:

• Copper-free formula: Uses organic Econea biocide. It is a viable choice for harbors that restrict copper-based antifouling paints.
• Dual biocides: Econea hard-growth biocide plus a slime inhibitor for multi-season protection.
• Co-polymer ablative technology: The paint film wears away in a controlled way as the boat is used. This limits paint build-up between haul-outs and reduces the need for sanding at repaint.
• Water-based, low-VOC: Little solvent odor. Application tools clean up with soap and water.
• Compatible with many surfaces: Can be applied over most aged hard and ablative antifouling coatings. It is suitable for fiberglass, wood, steel and aluminum when the recommended primer system is followed.
• Effective out of the water: The paint does not lose effectiveness if the boat is removed from the water.

Hydrocoat Eco is a good option for boaters who want dependable bottom protection with a lower environmental impact and a more pleasant application experience. Follow the manufacturer's product data sheet for surface preparation, primer selection and recommended coats.
