The 3M 02601 Softback Sanding Sponge is an ultrafine-grade hand-sanding sponge designed for precision surface finishing on wood, metal, fiberglass, gel coat, marine paints, and plastics. Rated at 800–1000 grit (Ultrafine), it excels at fine finishing work, scuff sanding, and eliminating finger marks between coats. Each box contains 20 sponges measuring 4-1/2" x 5-1/2".

Key Features:

• Ultrafine grit range (800–1000): Ideal for final surface prep, scuff sanding, and removing imperfections before topcoat application
• Flexible foam backing: Conforms to virtually any contour or profile, making it more adaptable than conventional paper-backed sandpaper
• Reaches hard-to-access areas: Perfect for hand-sanding around headlight openings, door handles, door jambs, and other tight or irregular shapes
• Wet or dry use: Waterproof bonding system supports both wet and dry sanding applications
• Aluminum oxide abrasive mineral: Self-fracturing construction continuously exposes fresh cutting edges for longer abrasive life and consistent cut rate
• Helps eliminate finger marks: Fine finishing capability leaves surfaces smooth and ready for paint or clear coat
• Wide material compatibility: Suitable for wood, metal, fiberglass, plastic, gel coat, marine paints, and painted surfaces
