On extendable models, positive snap locks secure the handle at the desired length, and stainless steel fittings round out the corrosion-resistant build.

The HelmsMate extension handles are constructed with only marine-grade materials and fit all motors — electric or gas — up to 15 horsepower. A key safety detail also sets these handles apart: each handle includes a hole for easy access to the kill switch at the end of the throttle.

Universal Fit and the U-Joint Model

One of the standout options in the HelmsMate family is the U-Joint model. The articulating universal joint enables push-pull steering and precise twist-throttle control, as well as easy access to the kill switch. Lockout sleeves convert the handle to a direct steer feel when conditions call for a more traditional grip. The universal clamp adjusts to fit most motors up to 15 HP and motor handles up to 1-3/4" in diameter, making installation straightforward without the need for special tools.
