Shakespeare Antennas VHF External Speakers & Hailer Horns
When it comes to marine communication, being heard is just as important as being able to hear. Shakespeare Antennas has long been a trusted name in marine electronics, and their commitment to reliable, durable communication equipment extends beyond antennas into the accessories that complete your onboard VHF setup — including VHF external speakers and hailer horns.
Purpose-Built for the Marine Environment
Unlike general-purpose audio accessories, Shakespeare's VHF external speakers and hailer horns are engineered specifically for the demands of the marine environment. Salt air, UV exposure, spray, and vibration are constant challenges aboard any vessel, and Shakespeare designs these components to withstand exactly those conditions. Boaters can expect weather-resistant construction that holds up voyage after voyage, whether you're navigating coastal inlets or open offshore waters.
Why Hailer Horns Matter on the Water
A hailer horn serves a critical safety function: it allows a captain or crew member to project their voice — or a VHF radio's audio output — to other vessels, docks, or crew members on deck. In situations where hand signals fall short and radio-to-radio contact isn't possible, a well-functioning hailer horn can be essential for collision avoidance, docking coordination, and general vessel-to-vessel communication. Shakespeare's hailer horns are designed to deliver clear, powerful output that cuts through wind, engine noise, and ambient water sounds.
Completing Your VHF Communication System
Shakespeare's VHF external speakers are the natural companion to any marine VHF radio installation. Mounted in a cockpit, helm station, or flybridge, an external speaker ensures that incoming radio transmissions are audible even over the roar of engines or the sound of wind and waves. Shakespeare's reputation for building robust marine antennas carries over into these speakers — you can expect the same attention to weatherproofing and signal integrity that defines their broader product line.
A Brand Rooted in Marine Communication
Shakespeare has decades of experience supplying the marine industry with antennas and communication accessories that professional mariners and recreational boaters rely on alike. Their products are widely found aboard sailboats, powerboats, fishing vessels, and commercial craft. This breadth of real-world use has informed how Shakespeare builds every piece of communication hardware they produce — including their external speakers and hailer horns, which are built to the same exacting standards as their flagship antenna products.
Whether you're upgrading an existing VHF installation or fitting out a new vessel, Shakespeare's VHF external speakers and hailer horns offer a straightforward path to clearer, more reliable onboard communication.
