Wiseco Clutch & Components: Forged Performance Where It Counts
Most riders know Wiseco Pistons as the gold standard in forged performance pistons — but the brand's engineering philosophy extends far beyond the cylinder. Wiseco's Clutch & Components lineup applies that same precision-forging expertise to one of the most abuse-prone systems on any dirt bike, ATV, or UTV: the clutch. The result is a range of clutch parts that outperform and outlast OEM replacements in virtually every measurable way.
Why Forged Clutch Components Matter
The weakness of most stock and budget aftermarket clutch baskets comes down to manufacturing method. Stock clutch baskets and some corresponding clutch components are made of die cast aluminum — an inexpensive process that produces parts prone to rapid wear and notching. Notched basket tangs cause inconsistent clutch engagement and, ultimately, a bike or ATV that becomes unrideable.
Wiseco attacks this problem at the source. Wiseco's clutch baskets are forged in-house from 6061 aluminum heat-treated to a T6 condition, making them stronger than billet alternatives due to their aligned grain structure. Each basket is then hard coat anodized and coated with Teflon to minimize wear and maximize service life. Weight-saving relief cuts on the outside of the clutch reduce rotational mass, allowing the engine to rev more freely, while large oiling holes increase lubrication and reduce heat buildup — details that matter most under race or hard off-road conditions.
The Wiseco Clutch Product Lineup
Wiseco structures its clutch component offerings into distinct kit tiers so riders can choose exactly the level of rebuild they need:
- Clutch Pack Kit: Includes new fiber and steel plates along with new springs — a straightforward solution for worn or slipping clutch packs, with frictions and steels built to exact OEM tolerances. Clutch springs are engineered to be stiffer than stock for a more positive lockup.
- Performance Clutch Kit: Adds a forged clutch basket and new rubber cushions to the plate and spring package, delivering a meaningful durability and engagement upgrade over the standard rebuild.
- Extreme Clutch Kit: The most comprehensive option, including everything in the Performance Kit plus a forged inner hub and forged pressure plate — effectively a full clutch system overhaul using Wiseco's forged components throughout.
Wiseco also offers standalone forged inner hubs — the only forged clutch hubs available on the powersports aftermarket — as well as clutch accessories including dampers and hardware. Each clutch basket ships ready to install, complete with new rubber dampers, a backing plate, and fasteners pre-treated with thread locker.
Backed by a Lifetime Warranty
Perhaps the most telling statement about Wiseco's confidence in these components: Wiseco offers a lifetime warranty on their powersports clutch baskets, inner hubs, and pressure plates, covering breakage and notching for the original purchaser. That kind of backing is only possible because of the integrity of the forging process and the quality control that goes into every part made at Wiseco's USA facility.
Whether you're rebuilding a trail bike or preparing a race machine for the gate drop, Wiseco's forged clutch components deliver the reliability and performance your engine demands.
