C.E. Smith 16681A Safety Chain Set Class IV 7600 lbs Capacity

The C.E. Smith 16681A Safety Chain Set provides essential security for your trailer connection, preventing separation from the tow vehicle if the coupler becomes unhitched. This Class IV rated chain set is engineered for heavy-duty towing applications with a robust 7,600 lb capacity.

Key Features:

• Class IV rating with 7,600 lb working capacity for medium to heavy-duty trailers
• Zinc-plated proof-coil chain construction resists corrosion and provides reliable strength
• Heat-treated S-hooks deliver superior durability and secure attachment points
• 8/0 chain size offers optimal balance of strength and flexibility
• 24-inch length provides adequate slack for turning while maintaining proper safety clearance
• Sold as a pair for complete trailer safety chain installation

Installation Note: For proper safety chain attachment, always install the S-hooks with the open end facing upward through the mounting hole. This prevents the hook from bouncing out during transport due to road vibration or trailer movement.

This safety chain set meets DOT requirements for trailer safety chains and is an essential component for safe towing operations. The zinc plating provides excellent weather resistance for long-lasting performance in all conditions.
