The Groco SC-1500-L is a bronze clam shell style hull strainer designed for marine applications with up to 1-1/2 inch thru-hull fittings. This unit provides coarse primary filtration to protect raw water systems from debris entering through hull-mounted intake fittings.

Key Features:

  • C84400 bronze construction for superior corrosion resistance in marine environments
  • Cast filter slots provide effective debris filtration
  • Pressure relief holes in door casting prevent pressure buildup
  • Direct-mount design without mounting ring for permanent installations
  • Requires six #10 fasteners for secure hull mounting
  • Clam shell design allows easy cleaning access

Installation Notes:

  • This model (SC-1500-L) does NOT include a mounting ring and mounts directly to the hull
  • For applications requiring easy removal, consider the SC-1500 model which includes the mount ring
  • NOT approved for potable water systems - raw water applications only
