Megaware KeelGuard 27191 SkegGuard Stainless Steel Skeg Protector

The Megaware KeelGuard SkegGuard 27191 is a heavy-duty marine skeg protector engineered to shield your sterndrive's lower unit from the costly damage caused by ramp dragging, submerged rocks, hidden debris, and everyday wear and tear on the water. Precision-formed from 18-gauge marine grade 316 stainless steel with a mirror-polished finish, the SkegGuard closely conforms to your lower unit's skeg geometry, ensuring no discernible drag or compromise in performance.

Key Features:

• 18-gauge marine grade 316 stainless steel construction for maximum corrosion resistance in saltwater and freshwater environments
• Mirror-polished finish for a clean, lasting appearance
• 3mm reinforced lower wear tab provides extra protection at the bottom of the skeg where abrasion is most severe
• Drain hole on the bottom prevents water from collecting and becoming stagnant, guarding against internal corrosion and freeze damage
• Installs with as little as 2–3 inches of skeg remaining — an effective solution for repairing or replacing an already broken skeg without welding
• DIY installation in under 10 minutes using common tools and the included self-locking hardware — no professional service required
• Backed by a 3-year warranty

The SkegGuard 27191 is a purpose-built replacement that can save hundreds of dollars compared to a traditional lower unit repair or skeg weld. Its low-profile design conforms tightly to the skeg, preserving your motor's original handling characteristics.
