Keel Guard 27211 SkegGuard Stainless Steel Skeg Protector for Mercury/Mariner Outboards

The Megaware SkegGuard 27211 is a heavy-duty stainless steel skeg protector designed to both protect an intact skeg from damage and serve as a cost-effective replacement for an already broken one. Built from 18-gauge marine grade 316 stainless steel with a mirror-polished finish, this skeg guard slides over your existing lower unit skeg to create a tough, corrosion-resistant shield against the hazards of everyday boating.

Key Features:

• 18-gauge marine grade 316 stainless steel construction for maximum durability in saltwater and freshwater environments
• Mirror-polished finish for a clean, professional appearance that resists tarnishing
• Reinforced 3mm lower wear tab across the bottom — the most vulnerable area of the skeg — guards against ramp dragging, hidden rocks, and underwater debris
• Drain hole on the bottom prevents standing water from collecting, stopping corrosion and freeze damage before they start
• Conforms to your lower unit for a secure, low-profile fit with no measurable drag or loss of performance
• Installs with as little as 2–3 inches of skeg remaining — making it a practical fix even for badly damaged skegs
• DIY installation in under 10 minutes using common hand tools and included self-locking hardware
• 3-Year Limited Warranty backed by Megaware KeelGuard

The SkegGuard 27211 is a far more affordable alternative to costly lower unit repairs or professional skeg welding. Its precision fit ensures no compromise to steering or handling, and the rugged stainless construction provides years of dependable protection.
